To volunteer with PGCCRC, please submit a completed application. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a meeting to discuss more about the program. Here is a general overview: 

• First, you will need to complete 10 hours of volunteer outreach services. This primarily includes attending outreach events representing PGCCRC and providing referrals for mediations. 

• Next, you will need to have an interview with a member of PGCCRC to discuss how we can best work together and to gain a general understanding of how the organization works. 

• Third, Basic Mediation Training is required. This training is 50 hours and is done in person at various locations through Maryland. Here, you will learn the basics of Inclusive Mediation, which is the type of mediation that PGCCRC practices. The next BMT is scheduled for April 2023, specific dates and location coming soon. 

• After you have completed training, you will begin your Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship requires two mediation observations and two mediations at the table with a more skilled mediator. 

• Finally, once you become a mediator, you will need to commit to 120 hours of service with us over two years. This translates to two mediations per month, or if mediations are unavailable, outreach events and referrals can contribute to the hours.
